Over the 23 years our festival headliners have included The Yardbirds, The Manfreds, The Kast Off Kinks, John Coghlans Quo, The Hamsters, Pete Brown (Cream), Ashley Hutchings to name just a few. All icons and pillars of the best of British popular and rock music. This year we are thrilled to welcome Dr Feelgood to Hook Norton!
Formed on Canvey Island in Essex in the 1970’s Dr Feelgood earned the reputation and remain one the most exciting and uncompromising British Rhythm and blues bands of all time.
The band line up has continued to evolve over the long history of Dr Feelgood, in the early days the band featured Lee Brilleaux and Wilko Johnson. During this period the classic album ‘Stupidity’ album went straight into the UK charts at number one in 1975 and includes many of the lasting set standards including Roxette, Back In The Night, Going Back Home Later and She Does it Right. After Wilko left the band, global success came with a string of hit singles including ‘Milk and Alcohol and Down at the Doctors.
The current line-up which have been in place for 30 plus years features Kevin Morris on drums, Steve Walwyn on guitar, Phil Mitchell on bass and Robert Kane on vocals, all musicians with a fine history and pedigree. Check out the full history at www.drfeelgood.org
