Popular musician, singer and songwriter Pete Watkins is well known for his huge repertoire of covers. Now he performs his own compositions with the band called The Originals featuring – Pete Watkins, Drew Pountney and Gordon Raitt and special guests.
The show will include songs from the upcoming new album, yet to be named. Along with favourites from Iron Stone and Steel (2014), including the popular miners song Easier to Breathe and Palace of Varieties (2018) which includes the festival favourite Papa John Spiderman. Both albums have been well received with BBC Radio airplay and plaudits from peer musicians and music lovers. “We are thrilled to perform new songs from the new album which we’ll play alongside our festival original favourites and an occasional choice cover arranged in The Originals style”.
